Cagayan de Oro Emerges as Mindanao Pickleball Hub

Where is pickleball growing fastest in Mindanao? Cagayan de Oro City has emerged as the top pickleball hub, now hosting more than 30 dedicated courts across the city and surrounding areas — with new public facilities opening at rates as low as P50 per session.

On June 19, Misamis Oriental Governor Juliette Uy led the inauguration of the Unity Sports Facility and Dancing Fountain at De Lara Park at the Capitol grounds. The new venue features high-quality playing surfaces, night lighting, an open-air lounge, Wi-Fi, locker rooms, and refreshment areas — with rates ranging from just P50 to P150.

In Naawan, Misamis Oriental, a new LGU-supported multi-purpose facility is now open featuring three pickleball courts that double as emergency shelter. The facility includes 29 toilet bowls, 26 shower rooms, parking for 30 vehicles, and an on-site cafe.

Private venues like 0-0-2 Pickle Courts (24/7 access in Carmen) and Dink Xcape Picklehub have also opened this year, adding to the city's growing pickleball ecosystem.
