Manny Pacquiao Launches Maharlika Pilipinas Pickleball Tour
Is Manny Pacquiao starting a pickleball league in the Philippines? Yes — the boxing legend has launched the Maharlika Pilipinas Pickleball Tour (MPPT), a professional league with a P5 million prize pool that is set to boost pickleball's profile nationwide.
The MPPT will operate as a professional league sanctioned by the Games and Amusements Board, featuring teams from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in a weekends-only competition with a prize pool of at least P5 million.
The league features five legs across the Philippines. Teams will consist of three men's and three women's players competing in men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. The inaugural 12-team field is expected to be finalized this month, with the pre-season kicking off in October 2026.
Alfonso, Cavite — under Mayor Randy Salamat — became the first municipality in upland Cavite to secure an MPPT franchise. "We are proud to announce that Alfonso has officially joined the MPPT," Salamat said.
