Philippines Prepares for Inaugural Pickleball World Cup in Vietnam
Is the Philippines joining the first-ever Pickleball World Cup? Yes — the inaugural tournament takes place in Da Nang, Vietnam from August 30 to September 6, 2026, with more than 80 countries expected to participate, and the Philippine Pickleball Federation is assembling its national delegation.
The Philippine Pickleball Federation (PPF) is assembling its national delegation, carefully evaluating athletes based on performance, consistency, and international readiness. The Philippines is set to field a competitive roster in the Open Category, which features no age or skill restrictions.
PPF president Sherry Anne Cu expressed confidence that the Philippines can make a strong impact on the world stage. "Our roster is still being finalized, which is why we need support. We are sending a large delegation to Vietnam and hope to make a strong showing for Philippine pickleball," Cu said.
The federation continues to emphasize merit-based evaluation, drawing from athletes who have consistently performed in both local and international tournaments.
